Is Nobody Home?

Ashley

To whomever will turn a listening ear in my direction:

My name is Ashley Pickle, also known as Danielle. I am a member of the Lord Our Righteousness Church currently residing at Strong City. I attended the sentencing hearing of Wayne Bent on December 30th, 2008 in Las Vegas NM. As our church members were leaving the courthouse after the hearing, the news media came rushing up to us hoping to get some comment out of us about the sentencing before we left, now that our dear friend was removed from us. Silence was our only response then, but I cannot remain silent any longer when I have witnessed the absolutely unjust incarceration of an innocent man who did no wrong. I must stand for the truth and speak the truth, even if no one else will agree, stand, or speak with me.

I stand here today, almost dumbfounded by the realization that I am surrounded by a vast majority of people who live in full support of enormous, purposeful lies, distortions of the truth, and the complete oozing hypocrisy that is everywhere. Whoever attended the trial of Wayne Bent and has any place in them for the truth, would have to know that the whole case was based on a complete lie and that the conviction was for something that simply DID NOT HAPPEN, PERIOD. There are no ifs, ands, or buts, about it. It just did NOT occur.

Doesn’t the charge “Criminal sexual contact of a minor” need to have sexual contact for it to be true? At least my own reasoning mind tells me that it does. I sat through the trial of Wayne Bent and heard all of the supposed “evidence” that was presented to the jury against him. He was charged over two girls who had both experienced the same healing touch from him, yet he was convicted on only one of them. Now isn’t that strange? I listened to both girls give their testimonies at the trial and neither one of them said that they were sexually touched in any way. Sarah Montoya, Wayne’s Attorney, asked both of them questions very much like these:

  1. Did Wayne Bent touch you anywhere on your intimate private parts? Both answered “No.”
  2. Did Wayne Bent molest you? Both answered “No.”
  3. Was your experience a sexual or religious one? They both said it was a religious experience.

Now tell me, what does “criminal sexual contact of a minor” consist of? The one count of this that he was convicted and sentenced on, requires that the sexual parts of the body must be touched and violated in some way. The point is that Wayne Bent NEVER touched or violated those parts on either of the girls’ bodies. Wouldn’t the girls know whether they were molested or not? Just because they have been referred to as “minors” by the State, does not mean that they were too stupid or immature to know the difference between sexual contact and non-sexual contact. I personally believe that teenage girls know the difference. The girls were the only ones there with Wayne in their experience with him; why would someone not believe what they said in public for all to hear? Why would they believe the State prosecutors who were NOT there, did not see what happened, and do not appear to have a clue about what a healing experience for the heart and soul is?

Can anyone discern between truth and error anymore? Is everyone so brainwashed and only able to follow their spoon-fed perceptions of reality these days, that they have lost all of their powerful God-given reasoning skills? This whole trial and conviction of Wayne Bent has made it clearer than ever to me that most people really have lost their reasoning skills, sacrificed their integrity, and refuse to stand for the truth, the absolute truth and NOTHING but the truth. To his accusers I would say that self-interest seems to be the only fuel under your fire. You care not how your deceitful actions affect and hurt the hearts of others. You care not how your lying conviction and sentencing has hurt Wayne’s heart of truth very much. You care not that he has lived his life standing in the truth and that he has hurt no one and done no wrong. You simply hate him and want him put away.

Is your heart as cold as stone? Do you not consider that your actions have incarcerated an innocent man over a LIE? I could understand if Wayne had actually committed a crime and hurt someone; then it would be right for him to receive some sort of punishment for misdeeds. But he did nothing wrong. That is why I am speaking out. I would not stand by a child molester or stick up for one in any way. I am sure that if the tables were turned on the people who have participated in his arrest, indictment, conviction, and sentencing, they would have very different feelings about things. If they were the ones standing in Wayne’s shoes right now, they would feel much heartache and maybe even anger for being put through this whole ordeal all over a LIE! How would you feel if you were sentenced to many years in jail over charges that are not only false but on the grossest crime possible — that of being a child molester? How would you feel if you were kept away from the ones you love very much because someone who hated you was purposed to hurt you?

I have to say, I can hardly believe that the majority of people on planet earth are satisfied to live in this façade of a world. Deceit is its foundation and governments constantly support immoral behavior. Injustice is the law that everyone abides by. Is there anyone left on this planet who can set aside their own distorted perceptions and see the facts and truth about a case? Is everyone that far gone? Even a little child who has not yet been ruined by society’s modern perception of life, could look at the facts in this case and see that no wrong was done and no crime was committed. But YOU, America, are so dead asleep in your strong delusions and fantasies that you cannot be made to see or love the truth even if it jumped out at you and said “boo.” But, sleep on. God Himself will send you His sudden surprise that will knock you into reality, a reality that you will wish to escape, but cannot, because it will be too late.

Consider this: On the same day that Wayne Bent was sentenced for touching a NON-SEXUAL part of an underage girl’s body, the media reported that another man was also sentenced by the State of New Mexico for a crime he DID commit. That man was an athletic coach who had sex with one of his students who was 16 years old, the same age as the girl Wayne was convicted of criminal sexual contact with. The coach was in court on the day before, December 29th, to receive his sentencing for several counts of “Criminal sexual PENETRATION of a minor.” That man actually had SEX with a minor and it wasn’t just once, but on a number of occasions, and he admitted it. Now you would think that this man should get the maximum sentence for such a gross sexual crime, but guess what was done about it? Almost NOTHING! His sentence was only 10 months of prison time on WORK RELEASE, for a crime he ACTUALLY committed. Can you even believe it? He is allowed to leave prison every day to go to work, and could even get away with more child sex since he can move around freely. Wayne Bent, on the other hand, did not commit ANY crimes or break ANY laws and he was sentenced to 10 years of incarceration where he is not free to leave the prison at any time, with 8 more years of parole.

Wouldn’t you think the State should see that this coach who is a real, actual sexual offender pay the price for what he has done? But no, this man doesn’t claim to be “Messiah” or the “Son of God.” He isn’t a “cult leader” in a “weird” group of people who seclude themselves from modern society. He isn’t hated by the masses like Wayne is. In fact, I imagine that he is much loved by many people, simply because he is part of this world’s society full of sex offenders and fits in well with them. So no, they wouldn’t give him as harsh a punishment for merely breaking the law and actually intruding on the bodily integrity of a minor.

I am just absolutely baffled by the insanity of these kinds of things, but they happen all the time in this world. Is anyone home these days, or is everyone “out to lunch?” Well, by the looks of so many people these days, it’s pretty obvious that most people do spend much of their time “out to lunch.” No offense meant to anyone personally, I am just simply stating a fact.

Why is it, people, that you refuse to stand up and protest when a guilty man gets only 10 months of work release jail time for child sex, yet welcome a lengthy prison sentence for an innocent man? Is it because you can only hate someone who tells you the truth and does not compromise himself? Why is it that you will not speak out against an injustice committed by your own government?

I am one who will hold my ground. I will not bend to fit within the grooves of modern society’s purposeful lies. I will never recant the truth that Wayne Bent was unjustly incarcerated. I will never recant the truth that all of you who participated, you who said nothing in his behalf, and you, the State of New Mexico, are fully responsible for this injustice. You have committed a crime, in convicting an innocent man who did no wrong and harmed no one sexually. Wayne Bent was sentenced and incarcerated all because two young ladies requested spiritual healing from him. He laid his hand on their sternums, NOT their breasts or any other sexual part, for healing purposes ONLY. The State says he “crossed the line,” but where was the line crossed when no law was broken? There was no sexual intent, no touching of sexual parts, no arousal or desire for sexual gratification, and STILL the State of New Mexico refuses to acknowledge that truth. Is it possible that there is anyone out there who will stand up with me and protest this criminal act committed by the State?

These things are very reminiscent to me of 2,000 years ago. Do you remember Jesus, how he was an innocent man yet he was falsely charged with committing a crime because of the public perception of him? Their hatred towards him led them to crucify him and allow another man, Barabbas, who actually HAD committed a crime, to go free. This is the nature of the world, and it hasn’t changed in 2,000 years. No, no one has learned a lesson from what happened to Jesus. They have once again willingly crucified an innocent man who only went about doing good. You, the State and all of the State’s supporters, willingly let criminals walk free yet you have perpetrated and supported the unjust incarceration of the innocent man, Wayne C. Bent, who did not commit a single crime to the slightest degree. You all will be held accountable to God for your actions.

It is written, “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” Matthew 7:2 No, you will not get off the hook for the injustice of your ways. You must stand before the searching eyes of God, sooner than later, and answer to Him when He asks you, “What have you done with my Son?” And, “Why?”
